There's something about drying laundry!!! And to imagine that such a sight gives me a thrill!!! Guess I have been living in Germany too long where most of the time I am forced to use my dryer...:(
Thanks to the the mediterranean climate, Italians hang their laundry out adding to the color of their villages. A stark contrast to the hanging geraniums of Germany. There's something about getting crisp, dried, folded laundry into the home. A friend once called me crazy for not enjoying the convenience of a dryer. Crazy I may be, yet, I would give anything for that sunshine to dry my laundry!!!
(Pictured above are the villages of Riomaggiore and Manarola, Cinque Terre)
May think I have gotten used to using my dryer all the time! I still miss the sun dried fresh laundry, but have learnt to make do with good quality linen fresh scented softeners instead!
ReplyDeleteNice shots. I love also this laundry stuff :)
ReplyDeleteI do hang dry a lot of my clothes but I like the softeness a dryer leaves the clothes. Pictures are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are very, very beautiful. I can afford a dryer, but I don't use oen. I don't own one, either. In Tegucigalpa, Honduras, the weather is good for outdoor drying most of the time. It is not as rainy here as on the coast so most days I can hang clothes outside with confidence. I love the smell of clothes dryed by the sun. Of course, towels are sometimes a bit rough.
