Hubby and I went mushroom spotting today, in the woods.
While there were a few people mushroom hunting with baskets, we were content at just looking, admiring and taking a few pictures.
If you do not know your mushrooms well and end up picking the wrong ones, it can be dangerous!!
Sharing the pics I took on my phone.
Mushrooms of various sizes, colours, textures are all over the place. Some are extraordinary to look at and some plain ugly. If you are anywhere near the Spessart region(the forests surrounding Lohr) I highly recommend a walk in the woods. Watch out for these fungi wonders, you won't be disappointed.
Lovely fall pics - and those mushrooms are cute! :-)
ReplyDeleteSo many different shapes and colours! I've not seen purple mushrooms before. Must have been quite an adventure, even more fun with a phone camera!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you have seen similar toilets to the one I shared. I guess we drive on the same side of the road as in india as we were both ruled by the British for a while. My husband and eldest will be visiting India (again) next month as part of a team from our church.
Will be eagerly waiting for pictures from India. Where exactly will they be visiting?
DeleteHow colourful and diverse - are any of them edible?
ReplyDeleteI showed the pictures to a german friend. She told me none of them are edible..:-)
DeleteMay you hit the jackpot on spotting the mushrooms! I love them all.
ReplyDeleteWe sure did Sonya!!! So many of them everywhere!! I guess it is because of the continuous rains and falling leaves..:-)
DeleteMy mom remembers mushroom picking in Germany with her father...almost 80 years ago. The look like a fairy tale to me.
ReplyDeleteIts amazing she remembers!! It's exciting to me too to see the germans with basket full of mushrooms. I wish I knew to figure out which to pluck.
