Since spring is no where around, all these snow covered pine trees make me wish it was Christmas again.

Early spring ♥

As the winter passes, everybody wait desperately for the first sign of colour. For, the trees are bare and meadows dull. As we patiently wait for spring to arrive, I satisfy my soul by walking around town,  taking in slowly the sights of the seasons first flowers. Then, I am content.

Today..

As I write this post, its snowing softly outside. And I'm sure the town and the surrounding villages look exactly as seen in the pictures below.

(Above pics taken during the last snowfall 10 days ago)

Winter this year as been so very different. We have been experiencing cycles of snow, melt, snow, melt.... which I think makes it look even prettier. Nothing beats the feel and look of fresh snow. And before it gets slushy to a blackened mess, it's all melted and gone, making you long for more.
So as I enjoy nature's miracle within the warmth  of my home, am curious to know what's your day like? Link up and let us know...

Fasching's parade

It's Carnival time in Germany, or rather kind of coming to an end. On Sunday afternoon, we attended a parade  in the neighbouring village of Wombach. To watch the pretty girls in bright costumes march,  floats go by with quirky costumed revellers,  and catch some candy amidst the shouts of "HELAU" which is a carnival greeting. It was extremely fun to wait and watch what kind of float would come next. I think, apart from collecting thrown candy, all the children loved the LEGO blocks who looked very colourful and unique. My personal favourite were the Grimm brothers fairytale characters. They sure got a chuckle out of me.
Sharing Instagram pictures of the fun filled afternoon.

Facebook and Instagram: December & January

The month of December saw me bombarding my readers on the facebook page with pictures from Instagram. Blame it on the magic of Advent, the german christmas markets followed by travel during our christmas break. It was a season filled with lots of good food, merriment and cheer.

January came with a kind of lull which is expected after a season of festivities. The colour disappeared making way for snow white flakes. We enjoyed our sort of last snow fall(though we are still being treated to some more) with a game or two of sleighing. Grey rainy days too made an appearance every now and then.

A little while ago, the facebook page With Love from Lohr crossed over a 100 likes. I have had so much joy capturing the various moods and faces of Lohr am Main and sharing our experiences with you all my dear readers. All I can say is thank you, Vielen Dank with all my heart!!

Wordless Wednesday..

Today...

(Spring flowers on my coffee table)

Today, am grateful for thoughtful friends who know what brings a smile to my face. When the weather is low and grey skies are the norm, it's colour like the above that lifts me up.

Playing with a sari.

What was supposed to be a normal tidying up of cupboards, saw me bump into the only 3 sarees I have got from India. Of which two have never been worn here. I gave into the temptation of feeling the starched cotton against my skin. Out came the pretty sandals, jewellery, lip gloss to go and I was ready. I stood for the longest time in front of the mirror, reminded of those days where I looked forward to dressing up   and dashing off to work, just like this.

It's February...

and my blogging mojo seems to have vanished into thin air.
The days are kind of flying....
I have begun making note of everything we have in the house, things to keep, throw or give away...
Two days into it I now want to drag myself under the covers and not come out, EVER.
Something tells me we accumulated way too much over the past 3 years.
I don't really know, just saying.

Been trying to make bucket lists too, things I wanna do and experience before we leave. Winter seems to have got all of that to a stand still.
For now, we are spending a lot of time together as a family... laughing, playing and just living in the moment.
Soon, the stress and madness of moving will slowly creep in.
