Creativity for kids from Ikea.

Thanks to the integration workshop conducted for the family last month in Stuttgart, the kids were introduced to the Hama beads. These beads help your kids to get creative and create wonderful patterns or designs. Seeing the work they did at the workshop I was keen on buying these beads for them. I was advised to go to Ikea.

In Ikea I found out they are called Pyssla Beads. So I got a box of the beads along with the moulds for the kids to continue their designing.

The beads are to be placed into moulds in any fashion or pattern you like.

Once done, parental supervision is required now, since the beads have to be pressed onto the mould with the help of an iron. Place the ironing paper(which is provided) on top of the mould and iron it well.When done properly, the patterns come out easily from the mould.

You can decorate the kids rooms with their creative art. Fridge magnets, coasters can be made too. More patterns will be shown in the future posts.

Tuesdays around the world -- What helps me relax!!

Today's topic is  interesting. We need to put up pictures of what helps us relax! What helps me relax.. yeah, a lot of things...To start with ..flowers, a good book, music, wine, a hot shower, a quiet house, sleeping children.........the list is endless!!!! But the one that tops all is spending time in my garden. Spade in hand, digging, planting, pruning all of these relax me tremendously.

Yes, that's my spade!!!!

Flowers relax me always!!! The sight of colourful blooms.....I just love it. These tulips in my vase are brightening my week!!!!

The week that was!!!

The past week has been  a mix of disappointment and  fun!!!! We love the weekends because we get to go on drives and have fun with the family!! Here are pictures of our drive in the weekend and the Main spessart fair that we had for the past 4 days in our village!!!

Isn't the countryside beautiful??? Even more better is to now be able to roll down the windows and enjoy the breeze....thanks to the awesome weather...:-)

Sunday's in my city!!!

Yes, Sunday's in my city again with Unknown Mami!! We are just back from the Main Spessart Expo in our village which happens once in two years!!!! Lots of food, beer, music,stalls, games...fun for the entire family!!! The kids had the time of their life looking at animals, playing games and pausing in between for eats!! Take a look!!

Flowers for me!!!

Now that spring is here, Anna's class was taken for a walk to the woods. I was pleasantly surprised to see her walk home with this bunch of wild flowers and grass in her hands. "For You" she said!!!

Not only did this childish thought brighten up my day, I also thanked God for these simple joys of life!!!!

The inscription is done then and there by this quite an old man who has great talent. He used a kind of soldering machine from which fire came out to write on this piece of wood. The painting is done before and kept ready. You have different sizes, shapes of wood and paintings to choose from. The larger the piece of wood, the more expensive it is. I was mesmerized by his art, so we asked what was it that he was using, he was reluctant to let us know...:( The above plate cost us 23 euros. Outdoor Wednesday!!!

I am so glad I bumped into Outdoor Wednesday!!, because not only do I love outdoors, I am a passionate gardener and lover of plants. My husband feels, I give much more love and attention to the plants instead of him!!! Way back in India, I had a lovely garden which i tended to lovingly. Having moved to Germany, we live in an apartment and I have to make do with the small terrace and potted plants. Would love to show the world what I had back HOME in India!!!!

The week has begun with Glorious sunshine, unlike last week!!! Lohr has suddenly transformed into a spring of colours!!!! People come out and spend their time revelling in sunshine and feeling good...:-)

The Letter!!!

My kids fight like cats and dogs!!! Excuse me for saying this, but it is TRUE.... And most of the time it is Mark who ends up crying!!!!! All kinds of reasoning, that they have only each other for life does not seem to work at all....I have reached a point where I have become immune to their fights, wails and screams......  At time I wish I had children of the same gender, would that have helped.....Heaven knows?????


          I was in for a surprise when I found this letter while tidying up their room. Not only am I at peace, my doubts have been laid to rest, Love does exist after all...... 

The Week that was!!!

Its Weekly Winners again. Time to describe my week in pictures!!! At the start of a new week, I bring a bunch of tulips home, week after week, a different colour... This bunch chose to bloom on Monday....:)

The weather was terrible with the rain gods showering us and the sun playing occasional hide and seek!!!

The weekend chose to be better and this was our first experience of good weather. Picturing the beautiful River Main!!!  For more pictures head over here.

The good weather meant the kids could step out and have a ball at their favourite park!!!

Sundays in my City!!!

Yeahhh!! It's Sundays in my city again!!! I am going to feature my Saturday though...Its six months since we moved to Lohr and this was the first Saturday that we experienced the best weather. The blue sky, green meadows, we loved it. We went out for a stroll and lazed by the River Main!! A few shots of my beautiful village Lohr....

Look who we met??????????? The kids were excited to see these grazing sheep......:-)

The beautiful Main!!! I could sit by its banks forever!! I hope we have the same weather next week...Have promised the kids a picnic...
