Pumpkin Festival

We spent the weekend with our friends from back home in the city of Stuttgart. With four kids to keep busy during the weekend, we headed over to Ludwigsburg where a pumpkin festival was happening since the past month. The moment we got out of the bus, this was the sight that greeted us. Forgetting the pumpkins I rushed to capture the lovely autumn hues with all four kids in tow. With a mini photo shoot over, we proceeded to the pumpkin delight.

There were way too many pumpkins in all colors, sizes and shapes!!!! A colorful sight indeed. The kids went crazy, so also us...:D

Not to forget, the theme of the festival was "Jurassic Park"

There were pretty pumpkin arrangements too...

plenty on sale....

Sliced pumpkins fried in hot oil in a wok seasoned with Indische spices... Naturally we ended up buying the seasoning to try out the same at home.

There were also food stalls selling delicacies prepared guessed right...:) Well, we had to meet up with another Indian family and since we were running out of time, we had to let our taste buds be satisfied with the yummy aroma wafting through the air.

In all, it was a gorgeous autumn fun filled day!!!!

  1. What an absolutely gorgeous place - makes me feel connected - seeing all the same pumpkins I saw here at the fairs and festivals - your pictures are marvelous,

  2. This looks so fun and different - thanks for sharing! :-)

  3. Isn't this beautiful? Love using the gourds and pumpkin as textures for the dinosaurs. My mom was born in Stuttgard, I'll send her the link to this post!

  4. What a fun all the pictures! I'm going to have to go back and look at my Germany pictures I swear where we lived I never found pumpkins!
Hope it's still funny autumn days!

  5. That's amazing, I've never seen anything like it.

  6. My father's family are descendants of Germany. They came to the US and settled in a place called Des Allemands (The Germans). My father visitied a few times and loved it. I think I need to start saving my frequent flyer miles. What a wonderful place!

I love it when you stop by to say a few words...
